Upper Delaware Guided Trips
(Trout: Year Round)
(Bass: June 15 - Sept 15)
The crown jewel of trout fishing east of the Mississippi. Nothing rivals the Big D in terms of insect life, number and quality of fish. Famed for its heavy spring and summer hatches, fly fishers from far and wide travel to the upper Delaware to test their skills on some very stream wise wild browns and rainbows. Beginners be prepared!

The season gets going around mid March with hatches of Midges, Black Stones, Black Caddis and BWOs, along with potential for some good streamer fishing. The system really kicks into gear around mid April with more prolific hatches of Hendricksons and Blue Quills. It also marks the start of some very crowded fishing. It's proximity to the densely populated northeast creates high demand in peak spring season.
Summer loses some of the bigger, better bugs we get in the spring, but is compensated by a drop in angling pressure. The dry fly game can at times be tougher in the summer, as flows are generally low and clear, but fun opportunities for nymphing and dry/dropper rigs arise.
Fall is always a great time as the summer heat wanes. Rainbows on the East Branch and Main Stem can start feeding heavy again in riffles, and West Branch browns can begin to key in on streamers as their aggression ramps up during the spawn. Dry fly opportunities aren't as consistent, but a burst of BWOs can happen any time, even into December.
